How do you want to give birth?
This is my first question to you.
I trained as a doula so I can be better at birth photography.
I never attend a birth and just take photos. I do a lot more. I am sensitive, intune and never will I get in the way of oxytocin.

During birth I will give you water, remove nosey dogs, turn lights off, give you words of encouragement, advise if needed and wanted. All this while doing my job as a photographer and documenting your birth and space.
Everything you prepared for.
Looking back at your photos will forever give you a good dose of oxytocin. Believe me you will need it on some days.

Meeting your baby for the first time is pure magic. It is a sacred ceremony. Giving birth should be full of strength and joy and worth of remembering.
I am here to help you make it magical and remember forever.
I fully support natural birth and helping your body doing what it is capable of.
Telling your birth story is a passion for me, and I do it in an empowering and supportive way. For me, birthing is a wonderful way of reclaiming your body autonomy.
I will always respect your choices and will adjust myself in any way I can.
I will support any decision you make, whether it is free birthing or going to a birth center. I will be there from when you go into active labour and up to two hours after birth, capturing the first few moments of your new baby (although I have spent a few hours snoozing in the guest room so I can document siblings meeting their new brother in the morning. It was worth it)!

Birth photography is highly specialised and localised. I am happy to travel up to 90 minutes from Cheadle SK8.
Most of my births are home births, but it is always worth checking with your hospital if I will be allowed in, if that is where you want to give birth.
I will be on-call for up to approximately 4-5 weeks, 24/7. Any other shoots and my personal life schedules will be rearranged or cancelled to make sure I get to you on time. That also means I am not travelling anywhere far, I go to sleep early every day and I don't drink alcohol. So my cameras and I are ready to go when you call me.
I will spend many hours with you.
I document in a gentle way, helping when I can and staying quiet most of the time. If you have any special preferences, feel free to talk to me.

The more I learn and educate myself about birth, the more I know how important is your birthing space, how sacred birth is and how nothing will go wrong as long as you feel safe and loved.
With time and births, I developed ways to be quiet and not get in your way and disturb the flow of oxytocin.

FAQ

When should a birth photographer arrive? You should call me when your midwife is on her way, or if you are having a free birth then when you are in active labour with established contractions. I am happy to receive a false alarm, don't hesitate to let me know what's going on.

How can you take pictures during labour? Would it bother me? We will have a discussion beforehand and I will take into account your preferences. I can get as intimate as you like, and I will respect your wishes.

What should I wear for birth photos? That depends on you. From my experience, birthing mothers love wearing next to nothing so I would recommend a small comfy top or a sport bra if you do not want to be photographed naked.

Should I get a birth photographer? I have yet to meet anyone who regretted that!
